AQUILA and Gecric Establish Health Baseline for Ghana’s Adomi Bridge
AQUILA Built Health and local partner Gecric Asset Integrity Management have assessed selected structural components of Ghana’s Adomi Bridge, the steel arch crossing of the Volta River.
The inspection, conducted on August 17–18, combined a Proceq GS9000 multi-channel ground-penetrating radar array with structured digital recording. Observations, scans and photographs were geotagged and entered into a single health record while the team remained on site.
Eagle Inspect AI supported the inventory and preliminary assessment of the evidence, with each finding reviewed and signed off by a qualified engineer. The resulting baseline gives the asset owner an organised reference for comparing future inspections and prioritising maintenance and capital planning.
Because the same method can be repeated across a bridge network, subsequent inspections can build on the same structured record rather than beginning again. The project also demonstrates AQUILA’s franchise model, combining its inspection workflow with local delivery capability.
